An extraordinary piece of wearable art by American jewelry designer Jill Elizabeth of Liztech. Dating to 1990, this sculptural brooch depicts a stylized ceremonial figure, meticulously assembled by hand using mirrored chrome laminate, vintage glass, colorful beads, and intricate wirework.
A playful study in geometry and movement, the figure features articulated arms holding two ceremonial sticks, a triangular black skirt, and an arrangement of vivid red, blue, and iridescent accents. Its unusual construction combines architectural materials with traditional jewelry-making techniques, giving the piece an almost mechanical, miniature-sculpture quality.
Liztech, established in 1984, became known for its imaginative handcrafted jewelry, incorporating unconventional materials and vintage decorative elements. This retired design is a wonderful example of the label’s eccentric, artistic approach to adornment.
